Description
This is not a wine we make every year – only when the fruit and the season
are just right. And even then, only 300 bottles were produced. The wine
comes as a 3-pack, beautifully presented in a bespoke box.
Appearance
Deep, saturated crimson with an inky core and a vibrant purple rim
—classic of a concentrated, slow-maturing Barossa Shiraz.
Nose
Expressive and intense. Ripe black fruits—blackberry, black plum and
black cherry—form the aromatic core, lifted by a vivid line of fresh
blueberry. Layers of cedarwood, dark cocoa, vanilla pod and baking
spice reveal the influence of extended maturation in new French oak,
while underlying notes of licorice, violets, and warm earth add depth
and regional character.
Palate
Full-bodied, plush and richly layered. The palate opens with waves of
ripe blueberry and black fruits, wrapped in flavours of cedar,
dark chocolate, and a distinct licorice note that runs the length
of the wine. The new French oak contributes subtle sweetness,
spice, and structure.
Following an extraordinary four years in barrel—predominantly new
French oak—the wine shows superb harmony and depth. A further
one year in bottle has rounded the edges, melding fruit and oak
into a seamless whole.
Tannins & Structure
The tannins are supple, refined and velvety, shaped and softened
by the extended oak maturation. Balanced acidity keeps the wine
lively and ensures the rich fruit remains vibrant.
Finish
Long, elegant and persistent. Notes of blueberry, black fruits, cedar spice,
and lingering licorice carry through on a silky, finely textured finish.
Overall Impression
A powerful yet graceful flagship Shiraz that reflects patience, craft and
premium Barossa fruit. Blueberry purity, concentrated black fruits, cedar
complexity and supple, oak-matured tannins define this release. Enjoy
now or cellar confidently over the next 10–15 years.
Food Pairings
This premium Shiraz pairs exceptionally with richly flavoured, savoury
dishes like chargrilled ribeye, slow-cooked lamb shoulder or a delicious
mushroom and truffle risotto.
The wine’s richness and spice also complement dishes with deep umami,
char, or slow-roasted intensity.
